has anoyone on here turbocharged or supercharged a no turbo/supercharged car??


im looking to get the most out my engine without a transplant, so i just need to know what needs doing thnks

so if i want to superchargemine i wdnt have to lower the compresion or anything with fueling


just bolt one in, intercooole nd get the forced air to go through my air mas metre/??

Its not straight foreward, youll be rebuilding your engine doing it Rhys, im no expert but i do know that something needs to be done with the compression and pistons

Much better doing a transplanet, making a n/a engine into a forced induction engine is far too much for most people. Up rating internals, lowering compression, etc etc...

ye true, in my list for conversions i have
either a g60 unit
or 16v abf as their both 160 bhp standard

the g60 wd b a straight sawp


the abf im not tht sure with the mounts

getting a g60 is your best bet mate.. straight swap in yours.. guy is breaking one down by me could be worth getting the engine and loom outta that..

or you could put g60 rods and pistons in yours to lower compression then plumb in a super charger.. im sure you would have to then do something with the ecu and stuff so maybe stand alone engine management, so probably cheaper to buy g60 stuff

U'll be able to supercharge ur 8v without doing major mods to it. As long as u keep the boost under 6psi or so, and just add another headgasket will drop the compression to a safer amount.

eatons out of a mini coopers S are used alot. Just need to run stand alone ecu so you can set everything up to run with the charger.

1.6 16v's are standard 125 an people have got 190s with no engine work. just the above an basic things.

and the 8v are pretty much bullit proof so shud cope with it abit easier

how much u recon the guy wd sell engine nd loom??

just checked and he wants £150 for the engine.. so thats your lower compression sorted..

if i wanted to tune a mk2 on a budget that is the route id go as stand alone management gets expensive with remaps and setup and with the limit on how much boost you can use its kind of false economy in my opinion, whereas £150 for an engine thats built to take a pounding from a charger is value.. ..

well yeah, didnt say it was the best option. But it wud be fun to do
